Advanced Hardware Engineering – Electrical Engineering
Advanced Hardware Engineering architects, designs, develops and is responsible for successful launch of state-of-the-art hardware systems required for enabling autonomous mobility. The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the architecture, development, testing and qualification of the electrical subsystems for all electrical systems projects within the Advanced Hardware Engineering team. New challenges arise everyday that require the sharp problem-solving skills of talented and smart individuals.     • Lead the development of electrical and electronic subsystems for the Advanced Hardware Engineering (AHE)
    • Own electrical architecture, design, implementation, and testing and bringup for the systems
    • Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical Engineering, Firmware Engineering, and Process Engineering, to develop state-of-the-art solutions
    • Actively participate in design qualification with reliability and validation team and support design for functional safety
    • Oversee and review schematic design of boards and flexible assemblies, design analyses, characterizations, and design validations to ensure state-of-the art solutions
    • Oversee technology scoping analyses & modeling and proof-of-concept investigations
    • Recruit and train talented engineers to build a world-class team
    • Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors 
    • Establish subsystem test strategy for design verification, incoming inspection, and manufacturing in process test
    • Contribute technical assessments to strategic decision-making relating to technology


    • 7+ years hands-on development of embedded systems including FPGA/SoC, DRAM, Flash, PMICs, high voltages, motor control and high-speed serial interfaces
    • BS/MS/Phd in Electrical Engineering
    • Prior electrical engineering management experience with complex electro-mechanical systems 
    • Mixed-signal circuit design utilizing discrete components and simulation
    • Design experience for ESD, EMI, SI, PI and challenging thermal requirements
    • Experience carrying high volume electronic designs from concept through mass production
    • Experience with contemporary lab tools, debug and bring up methodologies
    • Hands on with EVT/DVT/PVT
    • Excellent problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability to function as a technical contributor while managing small team 
    • Ability to thrive within compressed development schedules prioritizing time to market and manage multiple projects in parallel   
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

Bonus Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in Engineering
    • Experience with  automotive electronics
    • 10 years’ experience in progressively complex engineering and R&D roles
    • Experience with Verilog design and simulation
    • Scripting tools like Python/Perl
