As the Director of Quality Assurance (QA) & Release Management, you are someone who is obsessed with quality improvement with the ability to develop and drive a high-level strategy. You take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy through Verification and Validation. Additionally, you thrive in a start-up environment and have experience in setting up and successfully managing QA teams for bespoke autonomous vehicle (AV) platforms.

In this role, you will be:

    • Provide strategic engineering leadership to validate driving AI software using simulation testing, on-vehicle structured testing, systematic validation for robot motion control, behavior analysis of ML-based perception and prediction components.
    • Institute release management principles, SW deployment operations and validation methodologies, determining software readiness to deploy vehicles on public roads.
    • Help define the software delivery process and test methodology for in-house tools and applications.

Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience architecting and executing test plans towards system/subsystem level verification and validation
    • 12+ years of experience working in Quality Assurance engineering
    • Prior experience in working with field test teams
    • Experience with managing manual, design and development of automation frameworks
    • Experience with management of product releases and tailored verification campaigns
    • Deep knowledge of Computing architectures (low power and high performance)
    • Exposure to data analytics frameworks
    • Experience working with programming languages and tools (Testrail, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Githut, Python, etc).
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $260,000 to $372,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
