The CLAMS team is seeking an interdisciplinary generalist role assisting the CLAMS team in development of the Calibration, Localization, and Mapping system metrics. This role requires the integration of myriad technologies including: the Bazel build system; Docker; cloud computing; and databases. The ideal candidate would be able to synthesize these various tools into powerful abstractions for use across the CLAMS team, accelerating development and providing leverage to experiments via high-scale metrics.
Candidates will be expected to work closely with peers (both in and outside of the CLAMS team) to gather requirements for the systems they develop and to later disseminate usage information and best practices.
Candidates should be confident with software development best practices in both C++ and Python, and should be comfortable switching between the two and “bridging the gap” between them.
In this role, you will
- Take ownership of CLAMS software libraries and data pipelining systems.
- Develop new features to unlock potential across all CLAMS teams.
- Build end-to-end products including technologies such as: databases; software APIs/libraries; graphical user interfaces; automation processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
- At least 5 years of industry experience
- Fluent in C++
- Passionate about building software systems that act as leverage for other teams
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Databricks or Elasticsearch
- Experience with data analysis and statistics
- Experience with processing robotics data (e.g. LiDAR, Camera, GPS/INS)
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $164,000 to $234,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
