Our Story

Hello there. We’re Zopa.

We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. We’re incredibly proud of our achievements and none of it would be possible without the amazing team here. It’s not just industry awards we’re winning, we’ve also been named in the top three UK’s Most Loved Workplaces.

If you embrace unconventional challenges, are unafraid to think differently and are driven to make an outsized impact, you’ll thrive here at Zopa, so join us, and make it count. Want to see us in action? Follow us on Instagram @zopalife

We’re looking for a talented Ops BI Analyst to supercharge our Operations Analytics team!

Our team empower Operations with actionable data and insights that drive decision-making across key business areas such as Customer Services, Complaints, Fraud, and more. We’re passionate about supporting Operations in delivering the best possible experience for Zopa’s customers.

Our mission is to make data accessible, accurate, and actionable for all. We work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure our reporting is useful, trusted, and consistent. We’re committed to continuous learning, automation, and building robust data foundations, as well as visualising insights in the most user-friendly, clear and visually engaging way.

Here’s a taste of the team’s goals and priorities for 2025:
- Taking ownership of Ops AI Insight  including projects such as complaints and contact root cause categorisation.
- Streamlining and automating BAU work from dashboards and regulatory reporting to MI packs, to drive efficiency and consistency.
- Reducing technical debt and strengthening data foundations to ensure reliable, scalable analytics across Operations.
- Partnering with Operations teams to understand their data needs and deliver tailored, impactful solutions.

If you’re curious, eager to develop your skills, and want to make a real impact in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!

A day in the life...

    • Build, enhance, and automate dashboards and reporting for Operations using SQL, Python, and Tableau - making key data accessible and actionable for stakeholders, while reducing manual work across the team.
    • Support the development and deployment of AI Insight models, including prompt engineering, collaborating with Operations to validate results, and partnering with Engineering teams to productionise solutions.
    • Work closely with Analytics Engineering to design and embed DataMarts into reporting, enabling robust and reliable reporting for Operations.
    • Respond to ad hoc data requests, turning operational questions into clear, actionable insights that drive process improvements and informed decision-making.

About you...

    • You are a proactive problem-solver with a high-attention to detail, who is keen to dive in and understand challenges and opportunities with key stakeholders.
    • You know how to story tell through data and are comfortable communicating and translating across technical and non-technical audiences alike.
    • You have hands-on experience with SQL and Python or a similar language.
    • You’ve had exposure to Tableau or another BI tool (such as Power BI or Looker) and have built dashboards or visualisations.
    • You thrive on variety - enjoying the opportunity to work on a range of projects, collaborate with colleagues from different teams, and continuously learn as you go.
    • You have experience (or demonstrable interest) in Operations and/or AI and are excited and curious about the opportunity to work with breadth and depth across these two key areas of the business.
