Our Story
Hello there. We’re Zopa.
We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. We’re looking for a Senior Procurement Associate to join our growing and dynamic team here at Zopa. You'll get involved with numerous aspects of Procurement, including managing tenders, building relationships with third parties, and engaging with internal stakeholders. We have a procurement tool we use to manage the supplier contracts and due diligence, which is a core part of what you’ll be getting involved with.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone who has Procurement experience working in a regulated industry, but this is not essential. What we’re really looking for is someone with a growth mindset, who thrives from working in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to learn and grow as the team develops.
As a central function we work across all the business areas, liaising with stakeholders to understand their needs and best support their Procurement requirements. We have a number of projects running in parallel, and we need someone who can hold the business and suppliers to account to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
Ultimately, we want to welcome someone to the team who has a great base in Procurement practices, is hard working and has the drive and curiosity to learn about the intricacies of Zopa as a fast-paced FinTech scale-up.
A day in the life:
- Running smaller tenders, and supporting the wider team for larger critical tenders
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive improvements
- Helping with strategic implementation projects within the business to realise efficiencies
- Supporting senior internal stakeholders in the execution of supplier management policies and procedures
- Engaging with internal stakeholders and external suppliers in the identification and execution of cost efficiency improvements
- Creating regular MI for the key business stakeholders
About you:
- You have a growth mindset, and a drive to be curious, ask questions and learn
- You have great communication skills to be able to liaise with business stakeholders, holding them to account and working collaboratively to achieve strategic objectives.
- You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and a willingness to learn. We move fast... you’ll be nimble, with the ability to prioritise, and meet deadlines whilst working accurately with attention to detail.
- It would be useful to have worked in Financial Services, as you’ll have knowledge and familiarity with the PRA Outsourcing & TPRM requirements, EBA Outsourcing Guidelines and/ or FCA SYSC8. However, this is not essential providing you are willing to quickly pick up these frameworks and understand their importance
Bonus points for:
- Running procurement tenders
- SRM experience
- Project management experience
- Process implementation
- Proficient in Microsoft PPT and Excel
