Finance Analyst

The Finance Analyst will be part of the finance function, with a wide-ranging remit to improve the management information of the business, prepare the forecasts / budgets, merchant profitability models and understand the consumer loans performance.  The role requires great stakeholder management as it will be the conduit between the data and the various business areas. 

A day in the life:

    • Extract data from the Data Warehouse and other sources using SQL and PowerBi to produce insightful and actionable management information 
    • Develop dashboards that will enable the C-suite to monitor the performance of the business and aid their decision making
    • Rationalise the current suite of dashboards into a logical, well presented source of great information 
    • Understand the historical performance of the consumer loan book, in conjunction with the Credit Analyst, to be able to predict future outcomes
    • Build a merchant profitability model to measure ROA of merchants
    • Work with the sales and finance teams, as well as third parties, to maximise sales and margins
    • Produce the annual budget and periodic forecasts
    • Enhance the financial model to demonstrate the impact of prospective changes
    • Work with departmental managers to improve their financial literacy and controls

About you:

    • Demonstratable experience in an analytical role 
    • CIMA or equivalent qualification
    • Experience of managing effective working relationships with multiple internal stakeholders 
    • Excellent Excel skills 
    • Strong SQL skills
    • Attention to detail
    • An enquiring mind
    • Excellent planning and organisational skills
    • Strong communication skills

Bonus points for:

    • Financial Services industry or Fintech experience
Please note, that this role is based in our Newcastle-Under-Lyme office and will require twice weekly travel.
