THE OPPORTUNITY
ZURU is a leading FMCG/CPG/Toys company committed to leveraging the power of data and analytics to drive innovation and strategic decision-making. We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Data Analytics and Development / Data Science Summer Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate with a background in data science or development to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Assist with the collection, cleaning, and pre-processing of large datasets to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques to analyse and interpret data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and project status reports.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of data pipelines, data storage solutions, and analytical tools.
- Participate in team meetings, providing updates on project progress and sharing new ideas and approaches.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and development.
- Work within the AWS Cloud environment.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with programming languages, such as Python, R, or Java.
- Familiarity with data science libraries and tools, such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Keras.
- Knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic team.
