The ‘Performance Marketing Manager – Europe’ is a function leader in the central ZURU Performance Marketing team, helping execute digital marketing for the ZURU TOYS & EDGE portfolios of brands across Google & Retail Marketplaces.
 
This role supports all of Zuru’s EU & UK digital marketing strategy, planning execution & reporting, and specifically leads & oversees execution of Google & Retail marketplace Pay Per Click (PPC)  media advertising. Managing one executive for YouTube & Google Search campaign implementation in the Google Ads platforms, and across Amazon, Criteo, Citrus Ads and related retail marketing platforms using their experienced European media market knowledge.
 
Reporting to the Head Of Performance you’ll be working alongside our brand & content teams to plan, implement & report leading Google & marketplace campaigns. You’ll have the support from your direct report and from a growing performance team that includes colleagues that either lead different digital functions, or that specialise in Toys or FMCG industry digital marketing in general, and work with you on campaign strategy & management.
 
Curious, enthusiastic, analytical, proactive and insightful, a Performance Marketing Manager can visualise the impact of their work on the organisations goals, while driving day-to-day execution that is industry leading in their market. They can analyse and optimise both macro strategy & micro paid campaigns effectively and efficiently in Google & retail marketplace platforms, utilising an array of data to make strategic decisions that have a tangible impact on performance. They champion paid Google & Marketplace marketing, looking for the next best strategy or approach to optimise, improve or refine their European consumer expertise. They develop excellent management, communication and team player skills, taking responsibility for their direct reports, channel budgets, goals, results and strategy - while working in harmony with their wider performance & brand teams.

The role is 40 hours per week minimum, with a salary range of NZD 70-120k based on relevant digital media & European market experience.

What you do

    • Oversee ZURU’s in house Google & Retail marketplace function & team in Europe, driving platform strategy, optimization, and growth plans & managing specialist platform executive resource
    • Receive briefs from Performance Managers/Executives, to strategize, implement and optimize paid search, display and video campaigns in Google Ads, as well as retail media campaigns in Amazon Ads, Amazon DSP, Criteo & Citrus Ads, across our large global brand portfolio
    • Work with Performance, brand & sales teams to devise annual and campaign KPI’s and execute against them, providing weekly, and end of campaign reporting including actionable insights and learnings
    • Drive campaigns from planning to execution, to targeting/keyword research, recommendation & optimization, working closely with the wider marketing teams to ensure all activity will meet KPI’s and fall in line with the larger brand and sales strategy
    • Ensure campaigns are continuously optimized according to brief and best practice guidelines, within budgets & activity periods provided, and billed with all finance processes followed.
    • Help manage our relationship & partnership with Google & retail marketplace vendors, ensuring we are meeting targets and unlocking new Beta opportunities and added value to improve our operations
    • Oversee platform tracking and trafficking strategy, to ensure set up of required tagging across media and owned platforms, to ensure pages and content are effectively tracked and optimized to accurately report on agreed KPI’s
    • Lead the team’s centre of excellence for EU & UK Google & Retail Marketplaces, keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and educating the wider team
    • Define new strategies and continuous drive the team to improve across all paid & owned digital elements that impact on your paid execution.
    • Monitor web & retailer engagement & conversion metrics to suggest content optimisation strategies across multiple channels, to deliver the best return on investment for agreed metrics.
    • Lead & oversee week to week media reporting & meeting recaps delegated between self and direct reports, to identify key learnings to govern ongoing strategies, including sharing these learnings with the wider team with excellent communication.

That is you

    • 6+ years proven track record of paid social campaign performance in Europe across Google, Amazon or any similar platforms, tied back to business/campaign goals and measured by key performance metrics.
    • Proactive, self-starter who takes full pride and ownership in their work & their team’s output. Doesn’t wait for step-by-step instructions, believes in their ability and works closely with their team to execute to the best of their ability at all times. 
    • Experience managing platforms, campaign media schedules & reporting, and a track record of executing on effective and efficient results at each stage of the marketing funnel.
    • Understands the importance of budget optimisation down to each individual impression, and the role of different channels in the wider digital eco-system.
    • Highly adaptable and low-friction style of working. Comfortable working with multiple ethnicities, ages, backgrounds, skill sets and personalities. Mentally tough, confident and results driven. Displays radical candour yet empathy at every turn. 
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with demonstrated typing, speaking & reporting skills
    • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritise, stay organised, and manage time effectively with a strong can-do-attitude
    • Keen interest in Google & Amazon, and the various media, marketing & ecommerce products they offer.
