Lime is the world's largest shared electric vehicle company. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered 400+ million rides in 250+ cities on 5 continents, replacing an estimated 100+ million car trips. Named a Time 100 Most Influential Company and Fast Company Brand That Matters, we achieved a fully profitable year in 2022, becoming the first in our industry to reach this milestone.

We are seeking a Manager of Warehouse Code Compliance to join our Global Warehouse Operations team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Global Warehouse Operations, you will collaborate with local teams across the U.S., with plans for global expansion, ensuring our facilities meet emerging lithium-ion battery fire safety codes and other essential building, electrical, and occupancy codes. Additionally, you’ll support our Policy team in providing operational insights, and partner with Trust & Safety to create and implement internal-facing SOPs.

This is a U.S. based position with a preference for candidates in Chicago or Seattle. The role is primarily remote, but regular visits to warehouse locations are required, typically on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on proximity.

What you'll do:

    • Partner with the Real Estate team to ensure code compliance during facility selection.
    • Evaluate our real estate portfolio for compliance risks and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
    • Oversee the development of specific construction plans to bring facilities into compliance.
    • Lead cross-functional working groups involving internal partners, consultants, and contractors to secure alignment on approaches and budgets and manage projects through completion.
    • Identify best practices to achieve code compliance while maintaining a competitive cost advantage.
    • Negotiate with city and regulatory officials to ensure favorable outcomes for Lime.
    • Participate in building code and product standards development by supporting the Policy team with operational inputs.
    • Develop content for internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory issues that could impact Lime’s warehouse operations, recommending appropriate actions.
    • Assist Local Operations with selecting contractors and managing construction projects, especially those involving complex fire code compliance.

About you:

    • Experience: 5+ years in a relevant field, with a strong understanding of building codes, product standards, and the regulatory landscape, especially regarding electric vehicles and lithium-ion batteries.
    • Skills: Proven ability to develop innovative and cost-effective plans for warehouse compliance, translate technical details into easy-to-understand content, and manage industrial construction projects focusing on electrical and fire code compliance.
    • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience negotiating with city officials.
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.

    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in the electric vehicle or EV charging industries.
    • Proven track record in project management for warehouse setup and upgrades, especially concerning fire code compliance.
    • Experience working with city-level code enforcement to achieve mutually acceptable solutions.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $79,000 - $122,000. Equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s location of residence, the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
