Role Overview
GasBuddy, a leading mobile app with over 100M+ downloads and previously ranked #1 in the travel and leisure category, is seeking a strategic CRM & Lifecycle Consumer Marketing Manager to join our dynamic team. As we continue our period of significant growth, including the launch of our new loyalty program, we're looking for a consumer-first marketing professional to drive engagement and lifecycle marketing across our mobile-first platform.
This role is perfect for a marketing professional with 3-5 years of experience who thrives in fast-paced consumer mobile app environments. You'll own calendar and promotional planning, execute multi-channel CRM campaigns across email, push notifications, and in-app messaging, while managing strategic partnerships and cross-functional projects that drive user engagement and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Own calendar and promotional planning for consumer marketing initiatives, ensuring team collaboration for strategic alignment with business objectives and seasonal opportunities
- Oversee execution of comprehensive CRM campaigns across email, push notifications, in-app messaging, and app inbox channels to drive user engagement and retention
- Manage promotional campaigns from conception to completion, coordinating with creative, product, and analytics teams to deliver impactful consumer experiences
- Implement automated lifecycle marketing programs that nurture users through key stages of their GasBuddy journey
Journey Mapping & Consumer Strategy
- Design and develop multi-channel, multi-touch communication journeys that orchestrate seamless consumer experiences across email and mobile app messaging channels
- Implement and optimize sophisticated segmentation strategies based on app behavior, engagement patterns, and lifecycle stages to deliver personalized experiences
- Implement and optimize business rules for automated messaging orchestration that delivers relevant content at optimal touchpoints
- Analyze consumer data and performance metrics to continuously optimize campaign effectiveness and journey performance
Partnership & Project Management
- Manage strategic partnerships that enhance the consumer experience and drive mutual value for GasBuddy and partner brands
- Contribute to cross-functional projects collaborating with Product, Analytics, Marketing Operations, and external partners to ensure seamless execution
- Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to deliver integrated marketing campaigns that align with brand standards and performance goals
- Champion consumer-centric initiatives across the organization, ensuring consistent messaging and experience across all touchpoints
Data-Driven Optimization
- A/B test messaging, timing, and channel strategies to maximize engagement rates and conversion performance
- Partner with analytics teams to enhance customer segmentation models and lifecycle scoring capabilities
- Monitor campaign performance and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3+ years of consumer marketing experience in mobile app environments with hands-on CRM campaign management
- Proven experience with multi-channel consumer lifecycle marketing including email, push notifications, and in-app messaging
- Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate complex, multi-channel campaigns and cross-functional initiatives
- Experience with consumer journey mapping and creating automated messaging workflows
- Background in consumer-facing mobile applications or consumer technology companies (experience with apps like Waze, Dunkin', or similar utility/lifestyle apps preferred)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing and Data Cloud, Braze, Airship, or similar)
- Experience with consumer analytics tools and campaign performance measurement platforms
- Familiarity with mobile attribution and app analytics platforms
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with ability to translate data into actionable consumer insights
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with loyalty marketing programs and retention strategies within a CRM framework
- Familiarity with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
- Background in travel, lifestyle, or consumer utility apps
- Experience managing partnerships or vendor relationships in a marketing context
