    • Conduct technical interviews for engineers and senior engineers, documenting clear and structured feedback
    • Calibrate assessments with consistent scoring guidelines and benchmarks
    • Evaluate code quality, scalability, and maintainability with an architectural perspective
    • Collaborate with recruiting and hiring teams to align candidate quality with project needs
    • Contribute to continuous improvement by refining tests, frameworks, and evaluation criteria

Responsibilities

    • Deliver consistent, high-quality candidate evaluations across Front-End, Back-End, and QA pipelines, ensuring Smart Working selects engineers who meet the highest technical and architectural standards at every seniority level.

Requirements (Required)

    • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, covering coding, system design, and architecture across front-end, back-end, and QA
    • Proven ability to evaluate engineers at multiple levels (QA, engineers, senior engineers), with strong judgment in assessing technical depth, code quality, architectural design, and scalability
    • Front-End expertise: JavaScript (ES6+), Vue.js or React, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, and testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress)
    • Back-End expertise: PHP (Laravel/Symfony), Node.js, or Python; relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB); API design; CI/CD fundamentals
    • QA expertise: Test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, PHPUnit, Jest), test design, exploratory testing, and bug tracking tools
    • Ability to review and critique not only code but also architectural decisions, identifying trade-offs and opportunities for improvement
    • Strong communication skills, able to deliver clear, actionable, and constructive feedback

Nice to Have

    • Experience designing or calibrating technical assessments and scoring frameworks
    • Exposure to ATS platforms and assessment tools (e.g., HackerRank, Codility, TestGorilla)
    • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and DevOps workflows (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)

What you will learn

    • You’ll sharpen your expertise in technical evaluation and assessment design while working across multiple engineering domains. Expect to grow your interviewing and evaluation skills, gain exposure to global hiring processes, and help define how Smart Working identifies world-class engineering talent.
At Smart Working, you’ll never be just another remote hire.
