Position Description: The Post-Harvest Supervisor provides supervision in the grower processer facility and reports to the Post-Harvest Manager. The Post-Harvest Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all of the processes of the trimming, curing, and flower packaging departments, including, but not limited to trimming, weighing, packaging, and labeling of material designated for fresh frozen, wholesale, or flower finished goods, maintaining inventory updates and adjustments and ensuring a compliant processing environment.

Environmental Factors:

    • This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments.  Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.

Physical Requirements:

    • Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50lbs
    • Capable of sitting, standing kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time
    • Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel and pick
    • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals (butane, propane, etc.) following strict safety guidelines
    • Utilize chemicals (such as bleach) to clean and maintain facility/equipment
    • Must wear PPE (clothing protection), close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear/eye protection

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Demonstrate the values of integrity, safety, quality, service, and innovation
    • Provide accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Teamwork for the employees and processes reporting on KPI’s daily, monthly, and quarterly
    • Design, create, implement, and improve process procedures in the department
    • Provide leadership and guidance to Lead(s) to ensure daily/weekly operations, productivity, and quality goals are met
    • Conduct employee evaluations, counseling, or other documentation to maintain consistency and successful results
    • Ensure adherence to policies and SOPs set forth by upper management, state and company requirements
    • Provide direction to technicians on daily/weekly production schedules
    • Maintain proficient knowledge in plant diseases, pests, and contaminants
    • Detect and communicate any abnormalities (seeds, mold, pests, etc.) to the Post-Harvest Manager
    • Communicate directly to the Post-Harvest Manager of any issues regarding staffing, efficiency, quality, safety, security, etc.
    • Monitor the bud ratios, variances, and overall quality of material to provide feedback to the Post-Harvest Manager
    • Accurately document production data using paper logs, internal data systems, and the state compliance system
    • Responsible for all material movements and weights for the trimming and curing process, verifying location movements, weights, and transactions
    • Responsible for the trim, cure room, flower packaging, and related processes
    • Provide mentorship for the Lead(s), developing them professionally
    • Assist in the training of new Lead(s) and technicians
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
    • Review and maintain processing supplies; submit orders to the Post-Harvest Manager for replacements
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Post-Harvest Manager or other upper management

Experience & Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required; 1-year management experience preferred
    • Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges

Qualifications:

    • Ability to manage all areas related to harvesting, drying, trimming and curing
    • Ability to manage a team of employees
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
    • Excellent time-management skills, ability to effectively plan and prioritize
    • Ability to focus; attention to detail
